Byblos, Melbourne

On the waterfront in Melbourne opposite the conversion centre.

Fooood
Kebbi Nayeh - First time for Raw lamb tenderloin - nice, delicate flavour not like the cooked version at all, and totally yummy
Lamb sausages with lemon - ok, not the best, a big portion
Tomato and cucumber salad - excellent
Humus and lamb and nut dip - smooth and tasty, a bit much lamb

Generally big portions.

Furniture
Outside on the water with a view of the crazy frame throwing from the casino.

Final Word
Got up sold on the quantity which always puts a certain spin on it for me that is not great.

Andaluz bar, CBD, 3 stars

One of the 1st of a new breed of bars in Perth, what a fantastic little place. Crazy busy on Friday nights and other times.

Highlights:
  • Atmosphere, wine list, service

Lowlights:
  • Food, not bad but only ok due the variation in quality from fantastic to very ordinary

Gypsy Tapas House, Fremantle, 3 Stars, $200 for 2 (inc Wine)

Gypsy Tapas House, Highgate Court, High St (Cnr Queen St), Fremantle 3.5 Stars

What you can expect in Fremantle, friendly, nice atmosphere, just a bit grungy - mostly in a good way.

Nice traditional selection of simple tapas like dishes. We had the all you can eat option that seems like a gret idea, but on reflection picking specific dishes might be better, we will do that next time.

You do need to book: Thu-Sat 11am-11pm, (08) 9336 7135
