Elephant & Wheelbarrow, Lake St, Northbridge
The basic pub, the same as a million others, pleasant enough, unlikely to get attacked, at least early in the evening. friendly American barman (from nr San Fransisco) reminds us how interactive and engaged North Americans are vs Australian bar staff.

Helvetica, CBD, 3.5 stars
One of the new generation of small bars. Great little I love it. Best early in the week when its not to busy.
Wines on the board are always good.
Basic food only.

Champion Brewery, Margaret river, 3 stars, 8 9758 8177
Nice beer, surprisingly nice beer.
Kolsch was excellent as the is pale ale and Amber ale, actually all are good.
The squid was the only food we had and that was OK I would say. Nice enough, but only ok.

Clancy's Fish Pub, Fremantle, 3 stars
Feeling
This place is immediately appealing. The wood floors, the older building, the long list of beers, and the smiling staff.
Fun
The atmosphere is great. Sitting outside of an evening sipping a excellent beer or inside on Sunday evening listening to a band.
Food
The food in ok, only ok I am afraid, I would think about eating elsewhere.

Clancy's Fish Pub, Canning Hwy, 2.5 stars - (08) 9364 7322
Food
- Unfortunately our food experience was average to poor. The fish cakes are just ok, tasty, but dry with no real texture. A good guess would be manufactured and bought in. The squid rings where better but really not sensational. (beer is good)
- Take 2 - next time around had the toasted fish sandwich. Not good. Not Toasted, tasteless frozen fish, not much mayo. (beer still good)
- Take 3 - fish and chips. Not bad, better than the fish sandwich, good chips. (beer is good)
- Beer choices are excellent. I will be back for a drink, if not to eat
- Take 2 - confirmed - drink here - eat at the Thai up the road
- No complaints about the service, it is mostly self service, but the bar service is good and the food arrives within a reasonable time. Everyone seems friendly. Service is to often a issue in Perth and not so much here.
- Atmosphere is good and busy and relaxing
- The decor is a little off putting I am really not sure about the paper mash fish wall hangings. They probably looked good in the classroom of the kids that made them. Here they are just odd, not cool kitsch, odd.

Broken Hill Pub "They do good chips here" - 2 stars
Summary
Go for drink in the beer garden. Go somewhere else to eat. Beware of places that are pub of the year.
Detail
Renovated and new looking inside, but somehow out of character.
The service as seems all to usual for Perth is very average to crappy. Why can't they just pay a little bit of attention, rather than walk buy apparently scared to look up. I would rather go to the bar than wait for these slack asses. "They do good chips here" is a bit telling - no ownership or interest really in the place or the food, she dis-associates herself from the place. PS - chips are not that great - ordinary in fact.
The mussels where very very salty - they don't try there food before they send it out, if they did they would not send this out like this. What are they thinking? Overall the sauce was not bad, except for the salt.
The wine somehow was not good either. Poor wines and poor food. hummmm.

Little Creatures - 4 stars
This place always impresses. This time after a slow start was no exception.
The food, the atmosphere and the location and the service are all really excellent.
