J.B. O'Reilly's, 99 Cambridge St Leederville

Beer is good, the club sandwich was good the chips where great.

Pre game atmosphere is good

The decor is a little tired and grubby. All this crap is just needs a good clean out, I guess it is kind of homely.

Update 1: Dinning room meals are very reasonable. A cut above the basic pub food that is all to common. The Sunday roast was tasty, although the veggies are overcooked and there is not enough gravy

Wagamama, Subi, 1.5 stars

It has been a while since I went to a Wagamama's.

Issues
  • Menu needs updating, freshening up
  • They arrived with chopsticks that they handed me with a firm grip on the eating end
  • The service was nervous generally and not at all thoughtful
Setting
  • Nice enough, relax on the chairs have and a beer.
Summary
  • There has to be better places than this today. Hope the London places are better than this.

GoGos

Curry for Cricketers

Generally tasty. The banquet is not the best choice overall.

Clancy's Fish Pub, Canning Hwy, 2.5 stars - (08) 9364 7322

Food
  • Unfortunately our food experience was average to poor. The fish cakes are just ok, tasty, but dry with no real texture. A good guess would be manufactured and bought in. The squid rings where better but really not sensational. (beer is good)
  • Take 2 - next time around had the toasted fish sandwich. Not good. Not Toasted, tasteless frozen fish, not much mayo. (beer still good)
  • Take 3 - fish and chips. Not bad, better than the fish sandwich, good chips. (beer is good)
Fun
  • Beer choices are excellent. I will be back for a drink, if not to eat
  • Take 2 - confirmed - drink here - eat at the Thai up the road
Feeling
  • No complaints about the service, it is mostly self service, but the bar service is good and the food arrives within a reasonable time. Everyone seems friendly. Service is to often a issue in Perth and not so much here.
  • Atmosphere is good and busy and relaxing
  • The decor is a little off putting I am really not sure about the paper mash fish wall hangings. They probably looked good in the classroom of the kids that made them. Here they are just odd, not cool kitsch, odd.

Viva Restaurant 3 Stars - (08) 9364 8688

Food
  • Excellent. We had 1 starter and 2 pasta's and should only of have 1 pasta between 2. Fresh and tasty. Perhaps a little heavy. $60 all up including the $5 corkage

Feeling
  • They where not busy, but somehow took for ever to get menus (8 minutes - we leave at 10 if we get no attention)
  • They apologized and recovered well but still not great
  • The room is very traditional looking, perhaps a little tired
  • Generally quiet not il Ciao, I like il Ciao

We'll be back -
Update - ok went back and it was not that great - Service was good, but food was very average - the olive oil with the bread is tastless, the risotto is overcooked and the Gnocci most like mashed potato.
